From its beginning, the Clothes Closet has been operated entirely by volunteers. There are currently over 75 men, women, and youth, and over 25 churches that work one or more days a week. More volunteers are always welcome and needed—particularly on Wednesday and Friday mornings! Dependable, strong men with pickup trucks are especially needed for pickup and delivery of heavier items like furniture and appliances.
DONATIONS The Clothes Closet is dependent on donations from churches, civic organizations and individuals. All clothing, furniture, household items and much of the food comes from individual donors. A large amount of food is also provided through the efforts of Boy Scouts, postal workers and churches. About 50% of the monetary donations are received from churches, with the other 50% coming from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
